When I first stepped into the world of ecommerce partnerships, I was the only partnerships manager at my tech company. To be honest, I felt completely lost. There wasn’t a playbook to follow, and I didn’t have partnership peers inside my company to learn from and lean on.
So, I did the only thing I could think of, I turned to Linkedin (which was very foreign to me at the time!)
I reached out to people that seemed to be crushing it in ecomm partnerships, and so many were beyond generous with their time, advice, and support. I was so grateful and finally started to feel like I had my footing. As I continued in the world of ecomm partnerships, I was eager to do the same for any other newbies (so if you’re here and you’re just starting in partnerships, please do reach out!)
Now I work in Advocacy at Yotpo, and one of my favorite parts of my job is connecting with ecommerce peers, hearing what they’re working on, and finding ways to support them. But in all these conversations, I learned quickly that, unlike in partnerships, brand marketers and operators often don’t have a built-in network. I kept hearing the same sort of thing, like:
“I don’t really know other marketers from different brands.”
“I am a team of one, and I know other people do the same work as me at other brands, but I don’t personally know any of them”
“I love how that brand manages their loyalty program, and it would be so cool to speak to them about it”
Then…
The Retention Dimension was born!
A way less effort than 1:1 Linked outreach, or cold emailing fellow ecomm folks way to connect with like-minded ecommerce people.
The Retention Dimension (it needed a cute name, right?) is a Slack community built for the people doing the work in ecommerce.
If you focus on customer retention, AI-optimizing your brand, growing your brand’s reviews, building an epic loyalty program, or anything customer experience, you belong in it!
Here’s what you can expect to find in the Retention Dimension community:
- Meet like-minded operators from a variety of brands of all shapes and sizes
- Swap insights (why run an A/B test from scratch if someone else already has?)
- Information about IRL and virtual events designed for learning, connection, and inspiration
- Opportunity to ask ecommerce questions (like “what subscription app are people liking?”) and share your expertise
- No catch, no pitches, just a space to share, learn, and connect
